Elevator Technician- Buffalo, NY:

Elevator technicians are responsible for the weighing and grading of inbound and outbound grain using computer and manual tools to measure and record results. Also performing sanitation, cleaning and maintaining all grain elevator areas. While handling preventative

and reactive maintenance activities on equipment and assistant maintenance as needed.

Shift hours:

• 8-hour shift
  • 1st shift: 7 am to 3 pm
  • 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
  • 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am
• Primary work shift will be 1st shift, with availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift for boat arrivals, as well as some weekends.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

Pay:

• $26.97 per hour
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked on 3rd shift
• Overtime pay
  • Time worked after 8 hours of work is paid at 1.5 times regular rate of pay
  • Time worked on Saturday is paid at 1.5 times regular rate of pay
  • Time worked on Sunday is paid at 2 times (double pay) regular rate of pay

The Buffalo, NY plant is located on the waterfront, providing convenient access to Canada and major cities like Toronto and New York City. It offers employees opportunities to progress in their careers through seniority-based bidding and apprenticeship programs. The

  • Weighing and grading of inbound and outbound grain using computer and manual tools to measure and record results.
  • Perform sanitation, cleaning and maintaining all grain elevator areas.
  • Performing preventative and reactive maintenance activities on equipment and assistant maintenance as needed
  • Ability and willingness to cover open positions and learn all operations of elevator area.
  • Be responsible for executing all required HACCP processes and documentation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
  • Assist in training new employees.

What you have to offer:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• 2 years of Mechanical/technical experience in manufacturing or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
• Previous experience troubleshooting industrial equipment preferred.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
