Save the Slum Initiative is a non-governmental organization with registration CAC/IT/NO 139240, STSI was founded in 2016 and is committed to responding to current needs to improve the life of people living in slums and local communities across Africa. STSI envisions improving the living standards of vulnerable persons and communities and our overall aim is to work with urban poor to bring about long-term and sustainable transformation to their quality of life and to also provide better community-based healthcare and empowerment education and environmental improvement to all communities that will serve.

We intervene in various sectors like WASH, Education, Protection, Nutrition, Health, and Livelihood of humanitarian sectors and community development projects. Since its inception in 2016, STSI has presence in over 16 States in Nigeria.

Details
• The Grants Writer/fundraising Specialist will research, write, format, and submit compelling, high-quality grant proposals to funding agencies (International, federal, state, and private foundations) while applying knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach goals. lead our efforts in securing funding to help our organization operate throughout the year and ensure office administration. This role is responsible for proactively researching and analysing grant opportunities and making recommendations on their feasibility. Position will collaborate with leaders and team members to develop relationships with key stakeholders and develop supporting documents and maintain donor database and records.
Responsibilities
• Source, Identify, and apply for grants or other funding opportunities for the organization.
• Write program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services to beneficiaries.
• Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the donor organization.
• Research relevant projects, programs, documents, and topics as the need arises.
• Organizing programs and activities by the mission and goals of the organization.
• Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
• Developing a budget and operating plan for the organization’s programs.
• Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
• Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
• Writing accurate and timely program reports based on stakeholders’ expectations throughout its life cycle
• Meeting with stakeholders for ease of communication and transparency regarding projects and decisions on services.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-4 years’ experience in grants writing, fundraising, and programs management
• Candidates must have a personal laptop
• Proven experience in securing grants from U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID, ECHO, UNICEF and similar grant funding agencies.
• Strong financial background.
• Strong writing and research skills
• Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research processes will be an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Must have excellent organization skills and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and enlist support, when needed.
• Capacity to use Microsoft office suites and design skills is required.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.
• Proven ability to prepare and manage budget
• Excellent Interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
