Status: This is a full-time; hourly position
Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 3:15pm – 2:45am; Thursday: 3:15pm – 10:15pm; overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: As the Hand Cutter 2, you will be responsible for utilizing a variety of hand tools to apply a final finish to complex granite materials according to production ticket specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Reading production tickets and determining hand-finishing work that needs to be completed
• Using a tape measure, pattern, and square to layout the stone
• Laying out and shaping complicated contoured granite material using grinders and skilled saws
• Applying multiple finishes such as VM, Bush hammer, 4-cut, Corduroy, etc.
• Using a torch to apply hand thermal
• Grinding and blunting the edges of the stone with a diamond die grinder
• Utilizing various power and hand tools to cut and finish the granite tone;
• Cleaning stone as required; may require the use of solvents
• Operating various cranes and lifting devices to move stones as needed

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings
• Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric
• Must have good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production
• Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Mechanically inclined
• General math skills
• Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed

ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:      

• Lifts 30-50 lbs. occasionally
• Stands the entire shift
• Wears all personal protective equipment as assigned
