At the State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), we are currently looking for a qualified individual to join our team as a Head Cook at the Ella T. Grasso Technical High School, in Groton, CT.

Your Role as a Head Cook:
In this role we will entrust you to be a working supervisor of our facilities. This role is based in a High School environment and the successful candidate will have experience:
Serving complete daily meals in a large scale (500 meals per day) institutional or commercial setting
Performing supervisory tasks including: ordering, inventory and completion of production records
Utilizing the full range of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel

CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs. This class is accountable for acting as a working supervisor for food service employees engaged in the preparation and cooking of food.
Three (3) years of experience in the preparation and cooking of food.
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been in the preparation of food on a quantity basis.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Cook.
Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights; may be exposed to risk of injury from equipment and utensils used in the kitchen and from patients/clients.
