Are you passionate about diving and ready to lead a prestigious program to new heights? The University of Notre Dame is seeking a dynamic and driven leader to serve as the Head Diving Coach, guiding our student-athletes to success both in and out of the pool.

About the Role:

As the Head Diving Coach at Notre Dame, you will be at the helm of our renowned diving program, shaping the future of our student-athletes and driving the program to excellence within the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and NCAA. Reporting directly to the Head Swimming and Diving Coach, you’ll be responsible for not just coaching, but for inspiring and mentoring the next generation of divers who are committed to both academic and athletic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Coaching: Design and implement dynamic team practices that cater to both individualized and group training. You’ll teach advanced techniques, skills, and strategies that will help our student-athletes compete at the highest levels.
  • Diving Meet Operations: Oversee all diving-related meet operations, ensuring seamless execution during competitions. Your role will include scheduling, training, and conditioning to ensure our divers are in peak performance shape.
  • Recruitment & Talent Development: Identify and recruit top-tier diving talent. You’ll connect with potential student-athletes, evaluate their skills, and help them envision a future at Notre Dame. Your efforts will ensure that our program continues to attract and develop elite divers.
  • Academic Support: Play a pivotal role in the academic success of our student-athletes. You’ll closely monitor their academic progress, work with academic services, and adjust training schedules to support their educational needs.
  • NCAA & University Compliance: Ensure that our program adheres to all NCAA and University rules and regulations. You’ll maintain accurate records, process necessary forms, and stay informed on all relevant guidelines to keep our program in good standing.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with staff to plan, maintain, and review the team budget. You’ll work closely with the director of operations on equipment orders and travel arrangements to ensure the team has everything it needs to succeed.
  • Public Relations & Community Engagement: Represent Notre Dame with pride through media appearances, alumni interactions, and community events. You’ll be the face of our diving program, building positive relationships with the wider community and enhancing the program’s visibility.

Why You’ll Love This Job:

  • Inspire Excellence: Lead a program with a rich tradition of success, helping student-athletes reach their full potential in both athletics and academics.
  • Be a Mentor: Beyond coaching, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the lives of young athletes, guiding them through their collegiate journey and setting them up for success beyond the pool.
  • Join a Prestigious Institution: Work at one of the most respected universities in the world, where your contributions will be valued and celebrated.
  • Impact the Future: Your leadership will directly influence the future of Notre Dame’s diving program, helping us continue to compete at the highest levels in the ACC and NCAA.

If you’re ready to take the plunge and lead a program that combines athletic excellence with academic integrity, we invite you to apply for the Head Diving Coach position at the University of Notre Dame. Join us in our mission to develop champions in the pool, in the classroom, and in life.
