The University of Pittsburgh’s Athletic Department is seeking a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach for Women’s Basketball. The incumbent will assist the Women’s Basketball coaching staff with the physical and mental development of student-athletes and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance. The individual will provide comprehensive strength and conditioning services, which shall include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities: oversight of the daily women’s basketball weight room operations, design of programs for injury prevention and rehabilitation in conjunction with athletic trainers, maintenance of accurate inventory and control of weight room equipment, and education and enforcement of NCAA, ACC, and department policies on performance enhancing drugs.

Job Summary

Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of a sports program. Recruits athletes, mentors athletes, fosters athletic, emotional, and academic group of student athletes. Oversees sports equipment, practice plans and schedules, skill development, designs coaching strategies. Oversees public and media relations. Coordinates team travel and schedule. Adheres to all rules and regulations.

Essential Functions Oversight of the daily women’s basketball weight room operations, design of programs for injury prevention and rehabilitation in conjunction with athletic trainers, maintenance of accurate inventory and control of weight room equipment, and education and enforcement of NCAA, ACC, and department policies on performance enhancing drugs.

Physical Effort Heavy lifting, supervision of student-athletes. Incumbent will lift heavy objects, stand or walk the majority of the day, spot highly trained student-athletes and demonstrate lifting techniques.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification Master’s degree preferred; two years of college experience in a collegiate program. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted per university guidelines. CSCS or SCCC certification required.
