The Health Information Management Specialist works with minimal supervision to support the efficient management of patient information utilizing all file systems within the Health Information Management department. Responsibilities include scanning and analyzing records in the electronic medical record, release of information to patients and other healthcare professionals, preparing birth certificates in accordance with state law, and the processing and maintaining of statistical information related to vital statistics.

Fauquier Health is a 97-bed acute care hospital offering surgical services (including robotics), a 24-hour Emergency Department, extensive medical imaging capabilities, an Intensive Care Unit and much, much more. The Fauquier Health system offers patient care for a variety of specialty services including Orthopedics and Spine, a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and robotic-assisted surgery. The fourth floor of the hospital is devoted to our Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery.

Minimum Work Experience
Preferred: Previous experience in medical records or preparing birth certifications.
Knowledge of HIPAA and Medical Terminology highly preferred.
