Job Overview

The Health Information Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delegation of activities to health information staff for the health information management department functions. The Specialist oversees and leads specialized health information activities necessary to organize, maintain, and effectively use electronic patient health records (EHR). Lastly, the Specialist ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting standards and works to continually improve systems and processes in coordination with health services and clinical teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in Health Information Technology (RHIT) is preferred
  • AHIMA Micro-Credentials: Release of Information (ROI), Patient Identification Matching, or Health Data Literacy are preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of related health care experience, including experience in an electronic health record environment required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a lead work function and/or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Compensation

$68,640.00 – $85,800.00 annually

The range is subject to change.
