Health Information Management Tech II

Overview

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for chart analysis; assisting Medical Staff in the

completion; facilitating the hospital staff transcription process; answering and processing telephone requests; and

responsible for the quality and completeness of the patient’s medical record. Full understanding of Medical Staff

Rules and Regulations and chart completion requirements. Must have critical thinking and analytical skills.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim

Regional Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values

of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center. The employee shall support AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical

Center’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be

expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient’s

Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and other initiatives.

Qualifications

Satisfactory completion of college-level coursework (preferably including medical terminology) or a minimum of

one year progressive health information management experience in an acute care hospital or clinic setting.

Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).

Computer data entry proficiency.

Ability to file and retrieve data and records accurately and efficiently.

Experience with EMR systems.
