Georgia Piedmont Technical College is currently seeking an experienced Health Information Management Technology Adjunct Instructor. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the field, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and have a commitment to preparing students for successful careers in Health Information Management Technology. Under general supervision of the Dean of Allied Health, the adjunct instructor will provide instruction to students in Health Information Management Technology courses, to include:
- Lecture and laboratory activities.
- Internet class oversight.
- Appropriate testing and grading procedures, according to approved syllabi.
- Maintenance of grades and other appropriate record-keeping.
- Student advising.
- Course maintenance and grading via Blackboard.
- Completion of associated documentation according to assigned deadline.
Minimum qualifications for this position include Bachelor degree in Health Information Management or related field and a minimum of three years employment experience within the past seven years. Must be certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) (or equivalent). Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. Preferred qualifications include all minimum qualifications and A Master’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university with course work in field instruction with a minimum of 18 graduate hours.
Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
