Help Desk Customer Technology Technician

We are looking for a Technician who does support via phone, tickets, and chat to join our North American Help Desk & Canada Customer Technology Support team. In this role, you will be a vital link between Gordon Food Service technology and our business operations. Bilingual proficiency in French is strongly preferred to best support our North American user base. Additionally, you will grow and evolve our support processes using available AI tooling and participate in knowledge curation.

position Summary:

The Help Desk Customer Technology Technician is responsible for Tier 1 customer support. They assume responsibility for software and hardware customer support, diagnose and resolve problems using general troubleshooting techniques, documented processes, and procedures. They install, modify, and make repairs to microcomputer hardware and software systems and provide technical support to internal customers utilizing Gordon Food Service (GFS) technology products. They facilitate communication between GFS support teams and the business. They also monitor computer infrastructure and systems ensuring a stable operating environment and the maximum utilization of facilities.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in PC hardware/software support or an equivalent combination of education and certification.

• Education: High School diploma required; an Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred.

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with software running on cloud hosting and servers, PC/Mac applications, AI, and Software as a Service (SaaS) systems. Knowledge of Google GSuite is a plus.

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking abilities. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of an on-call rotation.
