Job Summary Job Summary JOB GOALS: Provide high-quality instruction within a small school environment where every student is known and valued as an individual; uphold the mission and values of AIMS and contribute to our goal that every student in California has access to a high-quality public education. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Direct paraprofessionals for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students -Participate in and/or coordinate a variety of meetings (e.g. Professional Learning Community, IEP, Grade Level, school-wide) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. -Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements. -Assist in planning and delivering professional development and learning experiences to teachers and school site staff -Actively seek and participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with federal and state special education guidelines -Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, local board policies, and administrative guidelines -Provide support with transportation for students with disabilities or act as the point-person for students with transportation services as necessary AIMS K-12 College Prep Charter District does not provide J1 or H1B Visa Sponsorship. Education and/or Experience

• California Educational Specialist credential (Mild/Moderate) or ability to obtain an Intern Education Specialist credential
• 3+ years successful experience working as an Education Specialist in an urban setting
• Experience providing crisis assessment, management, and interventions, preferred
• AIMS K-12 College Prep Charter District does not provide J1 or H1B Visa Sponsorship

Instruction

• Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans
• Support classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans
• Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies
• Plan, implement, and/or supervise specialized academic instruction that results in students making progress toward IEP goals
• Monitor student progress on an ongoing basis and adjust supports and services as needed

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Data-Driven Planning and Assessment
• Work with Head of School and Assistant Head of School to develop action plans for constant learning and growth
• Work with General Education staff to identify areas of need for students and appropriately targeted instruction
• Assess student data and progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals (e.g. behavioral, motor development and communication skills, academic needs, vocational abilities, etc.) for the purpose of improving program effectiveness
• Administer developmental testing programs, subject-specific assessments, etc. for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans
• Supervise the implementation of accommodations for state assessments for special education students
