Location: SalisburyA thriving secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and engaging Teacher of History to join its successful Humanities faculty from September 2025. The school is proud of its strong academic ethos and is seeking a teacher who can bring the subject to life and make it meaningful to every learner.Key responsibilities include:Teaching History to KS3 and KS4 studentsDesigning lessons that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and historical analysisDelivering topics ranging from the Norman Conquest to the Cold War with clarity and passionSupporting students in developing essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skillsEngaging in cross-curricular initiatives and thematic learningThe ideal candidate will:Have a degree in History or a closely related subjectBe committed to making History accessible and enjoyable for all learnersUse a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support learningBe reflective, collaborative, and willing to contribute to whole-school initiativesThe school can offer:A warm, inclusive and purposeful learning environmentOpportunities for CPD, curriculum leadership and middle leadership progressionA strong, supportive Humanities team with shared planning and resourcesAn active programme of school trips and historical visits to complement the curriculumTo apply for this opportunity, please submit your most up-to-date CV and a covering letter. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
