This role functions as the sales execution expert for assigned customers and is responsible for ensuring new items are correctly set up, activated, and ready for sale in customer systems. The Customer Manager partners with key account managers, vendor partners, and internal crossfunctional teams to ensure flawless operational execution and timely item setup within Retail Link and Data Sync.

Responsibilities:

Item Creation & New Item Introduction

  • Own the full item creation process for our customer, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Manage new item setup in Retail Link and Data Sync, including coordination of all required documentation and data attributes.
  • Guide new vendor partners through the steps of becoming a vendor of record.
  • Serve as the point person for troubleshooting item setup issues and resolving system discrepancies.

Customer & Client Interaction

  • Act as the execution liaison between internal key account management, clients (manufacturers/vendors), and customers.
  • Assist the customer and internal partners with new item introductions and implementation of item-driven programs.
  • Represent the full range of client products and services when managing item-related needs.
  • Support headquarters touchpoints related to item setup, execution, and readiness for launch.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with key account managers, order entry, claims, category management, schematics, and retail associates to ensure alignment and accurate execution.
  • Communicate item statuses, timelines, and deliverables effectively to all stakeholder groups.
  • Support internal workflow improvements tied to item creation processes.

Reporting & Data Validation

  • Run Retail Link reports and validations as needed to support smooth item setup.
  • Perform accuracy checks to ensure items are live, active, and properly executed at the customer.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and data summaries when needed for item verification.

Execution Support

  • Support storelevel execution needs tied to new item launches.
  • Identify execution gaps and communicate opportunities to internal teams.
  • Assist in ensuring onshelf accuracy for new items as required.

Qualifications:

Required experience

  • Direct experience with item creation is required.
  • Familiarity with Retail Link and Data Sync platforms.
  • Experience at a broker, supplier, or retailer supporting item setup or new item processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage highvolume, detailintensive tasks.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working in multiple systems.
  • Ability to navigate reporting tools within Retail Link.
  • High accuracy in data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive client business at assigned customer by increasing distribution, growing sales and share, and staying within budget guidelines
  • Manage and coordinate sales activities through analysis of customer data, sales planning, and sales presentations
  • Serve as conduit between customer, key account managers, and clients through selling presentations, new item introductions, and display selling
  • Manage and delegate divisional initiatives, maintain team trackers, and ensure timely customer responses including promotional forecasts
  • Manage selling recommendations to build long-term business growth
  • Attend and present in client meetings and management meetings
  • Conduct and manage customer meetings focused on promotional events and display execution
  • Build relationships with buyers and support departments; recommend growth plans; assist with tactical issues including pricing, contracts, and execution
  • Develop and leverage relationships with key influencers and decision-makers at assigned customers
  • Sell displays, promotions, and new items; present business reviews; analyze scan data to build distribution recommendations
  • Present pricing disparities and achieve parity in line with client guidance
  • Capture weekly photos and gather weekly pricing as requested by clients

Qualifications

  • education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • Experience Requirements: 2-4 years experience in relevant field (Sales or Retail experience preferred)
  • Travel requirement: No travel requirements

Direct Reports: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
Indirect Reports: Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
