Our Human Resources department is seeking an HR Business Consultant/Sr. HR Business Consultant to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office (Hybrid role).

Position summary: 

This position acts as a consultant providing a wide range of HR support and advice. It plays a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on performance management, corrective actions, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, terminations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between managers and employees. 

This is a Full-time, Exempt role with a hybrid work schedule (2 days per week in home office).

Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 

Business Consulting

  • Consult in a wide variety of HR areas including: staffing/employee selection, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, talent management/succession planning, employee relations, inclusion & diversity, etc.
  • Responsible for the day to day support to managers to coach their employees and comply with HR policies and programs
  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management within guidelines on daily employee relations and performance management and compensation & benefits inquiries
  • Act as a resource for a wide range of employee issues, responding directly when possible and redirecting or escalating as necessary
  • Work with managers to ensure the delivery of lifecycle goals for employees
  • Consistently demonstrates the value of HR work by delivering, measuring, and communicating high impact results for business.
  • Drive the employee experience by coaching leaders to hire, inspire, develop and retain talent
  • Drive employee development: coach managers to create meaningful, personalized development plans
  • Conduct HR support for functional processes like Performance Development, Compensation Planning, New Employee Orientation and New Manager Assimilation

Partnership, Develop and Mentor

  • Escalation to and partnership with ER & HR Program Management group on complex issues
  • Train and provide support to HR Associates on the First Contact Team and less experienced Consultants
  • Act as point of contact for items that can’t be resolved through the First Contact team and less experienced Consultants

HR Project, Policy & Program Management

  • Manages execution of programs and projects within the business, focusing on driving functional readiness, developing program analytics, when needed, and supporting business lead talent initiatives.
  • Support initiatives led by HR Strategic Business Partners as appropriate; primarily working independently
  • Partner with HR First Contact team to assist in enterprise new hire onboarding program
  • Conduct targeted exit interviews as appropriate
  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience
  • Identify ways to improve policies and procedures and provide options for how to implement solutions
  • Provide ongoing trend analysis and key insights to Strategic Business Partner with the ability to perform root cause analysis and propose solutions
  • Basic knowledge of workforce analytics and how to interpret them
  • Provide agreed upon facilitation support

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of diverse Human Resources experience. Under minimal supervision, helps managers comply with and administer HR policies and programs.
  • With minimal guidance/supervision, solves complex problems and works with minimal guidance
  • Acts as a resource for those with less experience
  • Has advanced knowledge of the operation and structure of the various systems and technologies used by the First Contact team and escalation tiers
  • Consulting, facilitating and project management skills

Formulates ideas on possible root causes and key issues with the entire system/organization implications in consideration. Develops relationships with clients built on principles of sound judgment and organizational priorities. Builds consensus with client around those principles and priorities and consistently measures success against them.

Influence:

  • Builds credibility with senior management and key stakeholders to gain acceptance of ideas and solutions. Communicates benefits and risks of an approach. Thoroughly vets ideas before sharing with others and gains input from others.
