Job Brief:The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations within the Human Resources department.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides general HR support within the department.
- Provides support to the HR Manager.
- Assists with special projects.
- Acts as a point of contact for employees on all HR related matters, consulting with HR manager, as needed.
- Supports and manages HR-related ERP software (IFS) and HRIS (ADP) requests.
- Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Prepares presentations and conducts training, as needed.
- Maintains employee and HR data.
- Maintains the employee recognition and rewards programs.
- Maintains the company organizational chart.
- Maintains employee surveys and assists with analysis.
- Assists with employee onboarding & orientation.
- Assists with creating policies and procedures.
- Assists with talent management process.
- Assists with benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations and manages accounts for both Canada and the US.
- Provides reporting to the HR manager, as needed.
- Maintains the electrical and instrumentation apprenticeship programs and the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) ensuring compliance for both the employee and Control Tech.
- Promotes a positive organizational culture that engages and motivates employees through communication initiatives, employee participation events, and employee recognition and rewards.
- Participates/complies with company safety programs and policies.
- Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in administration is required.
- 2+ years of experience in a HR role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, employment standards, human rights, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Experience in ERP (IFS) software and HRIS systems (ADP) is considered an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office and HRIS or related software.
- Excellent decision making and critical thinking skills and experience with strategic alignment.
- Professional communication/interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information ethically, with integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States, as required.
