O PAM NA GUINE-BISSAU:

The World Food Programme (WFP) carries out a range of work in Guinea-Bissau, including support for health and nutrition, school feeding and rural development. We also provide technical assistance to the Government to help the country reduce undernutrition, increase access to education and improve food security monitoring.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The objective of the female internship program is to increase equality between men and women in the labor market, to address the large gender disparity in the organization in general and the high unemployment rate in the country, especially among young graduates. In addition, the internship program will allow WFP to train future qualified talent in relevant areas, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals No. 5 and 8: Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth.

With this opportunity, students or recent graduates will be able to develop skills and receive guidance that will give them a competitive edge for future employment opportunities, growth and support in the humanitarian sector.

PURPOSE OF THE WORK

WFP’s greatest strength is its dedicated people, who work tirelessly around the world to reduce hunger, often in difficult conditions where security threats and risks to personal safety are considerable. The organization is committed to transforming its HR function into a partner

strategic. To this end, WFP is looking for an HR intern to engage and contribute to HR projects and effectively establish WFP as the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide and triggering action towards Zero Hunger.

SUPERVISION

The Human Resources Intern will be supervised by the WFP Human Resources Associate , under the overall guidance of the WFP Guinea-Bissau Representative and Director.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INTERNSHIP PROJECT(S) /TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

  • Provide administrative assistance to HR business partners.
  • Support the organization of staff activities.
  • Support talent acquisition and integration processes.
  • Support for talent development.
  • Support for performance management and talent development.
  • Learning and training.
  • Develop employer-branding projects .
  • Any other tasks required to support HR operations or the office in general.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

At the time of application, candidates must be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, be enrolled in a master’s degree or have completed their studies in the last 12 months, in Administration, Human Resources, Psychology or related areas.

Languages :

  • Fluency (level C) in Portuguese (language of the country of work)
  • Intermediate level (level B) of French or English is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local languages ​​is an advantage

Experience:

  • No previous experience is required

General knowledge and skills:

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of HR practices
  • Analytical skills
  • Have a good knowledge of computer tools and, in particular, the following programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SPSS, with a view to collecting, managing and disseminating information.
  • Adapting to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
