This position reports to the Payroll and Timekeeping Manager within Baruch College’s Office of Human Resources. 

In addition to the CUNY title overview duties, tasks include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide support in maintaining PRAssist records for part-time employees, reviewing and processing pending ePAFs, and performing data entry in CUNYfirst.
  • Record accurate personnel data in CUNYfirst and PR-Assist systems.
  • Manage the Human Resources Payroll inbox. 
  • Provide a high level of customer service in assisting members of the college community. 
  • Review and process payroll-related documents for new and current employees, e.g. appointment forms, tax forms, direct deposit applications, etc. 
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and act as a liaison to University Payroll. 
  • Assist with the reappointment and processing of the instructional part time staff (Adjuncts). 
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations within the Payroll and Timekeeping Unit. 
  • May supervise support staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal, customer service and team-oriented skills. 
  • Strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard employee information and handle all documents with sensitivity. 
  • Ability to be proactive and work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments as well as work within assigned deadlines. 

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Assists in preparing and processing payrolls to assure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Analyzes and prepares requested payroll transactions in payroll systems
  • Reviews and interprets contractual agreements/provisions and Payroll Bulletins for implementation and update
  • Develops and maintains reports and queries.
  • Processes special payroll transactions such as W-2 corrections and duplicates and replacing lost or expired paychecks
  • Responds to requests for information; investigates and troubleshoots payroll discrepancies, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
  • Researches and prepares service and salary history reports
  • Assists with auditing bi-weekly payroll data and managing contractual deadlines for various payrolls
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

$57,517- $60,394; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
