Job Description

We deliver inclusive, market-based solutions across several technical areas: agriculture and food security, water security, sanitation and hygiene (WSSH), private sector development, governance, and climate and resilience.

DevWorks is recruiting for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist for the Feed the Future Bangladesh Sustainable Aquaculture Activity. The Activity aims to enhance inclusive and sustainable aquaculture sector growth in Bangladesh through a market system approach to improve rural household income and nutrition.

The HR Specialist will manage HR transactions and personnel operations in country. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant national labor laws, preparing and maintaining employment records, managing paid leave and absences, and overseeing the process for raises, promotions, and performance evaluations. Major tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Leading recruitment, onboarding, personnel file record keeping, and application of USAID’s and DevWorks’ human resources policies and procedures.
  • Preparing recruitment documents, posting recruitment ads, screening applications, scheduling and conducting interviews, and collecting necessary documentation from candidates.
  • Staying informed about all USAID, Government of Bangladesh, and DevWorks human resource policies and educating staff about these policies.
  • Working closely with employees and supervisors to ensure that performance reviews are completed.
  • Supporting other HR tasks including but not limited to enrollment and tracking of benefits, payroll, and local labor law compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, including prior experience working on a USAID-funded project.
  • Prior experience leading recruitment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of USAID labor rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of national labor laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English required.
