Job Description:

AtkinsRealis, a global leader in engineering and consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled Architect with specialized experience in towers and high-rise projects to join our team in the UAE. The successful candidate will have expertise in site operations and consultancy roles, with a proven track record in delivering complex tower projects in both the design and construction phases.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on iconic and challenging architectural projects in the UAE, contributing to the skyline of one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly developing regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Concept Development: Lead the design process for towers and high-rise building projects, developing innovative and functional solutions that meet client requirements, sustainability goals, and regulatory standards.
• Site Operations Management: Oversee and manage the execution of tower projects on-site, ensuring the architectural vision is realized while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with design specifications.
• Consultancy Expertise: Provide expert architectural consultancy services for tower projects, including conducting feasibility studies, preparing concept designs, assessing project viability, and offering solutions for challenges encountered during construction.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with other project teams (structural, MEP, etc.) to ensure that the architectural design is seamlessly integrated into the overall building structure. Ensure smooth coordination between the design, construction, and operations teams.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors. Provide regular updates on project progress, including any design adjustments or changes that may arise during construction.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality of architectural design and construction by overseeing site inspections, verifying the accuracy of design implementation, and adhering to project timelines and budgets.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all tower projects comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and international design standards.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior architects and design staff, ensuring the efficient execution of tasks, fostering a collaborative work environment, and encouraging professional development.
• Sustainability & Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies into the tower design to meet energy efficiency standards, and help achieve green building certifications like LEED or BREEAM.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 5 years of experience specifically in tower projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use).
• Strong experience in both site operations (on-site project management and supervision) and architectural consultancy (design development, client interaction, regulatory compliance).
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale tower and high-rise projects, ideally within the UAE or GCC region, adhering to local and international building standards.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE building codes, construction methodologies, and regulations.
• Proficient in using design and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM (Building Information Modeling), and other architectural tools.
• Strong understanding of sustainability practices, green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM), and energy-efficient design solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of architects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail, with an ability to balance creativity with practical solutions for complex projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience with leading global consultancy firms or major contractors in tower projects.
• Exposure to international best practices and standards in high-rise architecture and construction.
• Familiarity with advanced building technologies, including smart building design and construction techniques.
• Multilingual skills (Arabic and English) are advantageous.
