The Communications Division (DCC) manages brand reputation, corporate communications and media relations to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region. DCC works collaboratively with IDB, IDB Invest and IDB Lab.

Are you a social media-savvy professional looking to make a positive impact in Latin America and the Caribbean? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated bilingual Social Media Editor to elevate IDB Invest’s social media presence. As IDB Invest embarks on a new chapter with its innovative Originate-to-Share business model, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our social media strategy.
As IDB Invest’s Social Media Editor, you will be responsible for managing IDB Invest’s social media channels to strengthen its corporate image and support business objectives through strategic social media initiatives.
You will work in close collaboration with DCC, together with IDB Invest’s Communications and Marketing teams, to position IDB Invest effectively
What you’ll do:
- Translate business objectives into social media strategies
- Plan and execute a social media strategy, including paid media promotions
- Manage social media content calendar in coordination with IDB and IDB Invest teams
- Write, edit and create content in English and Spanish for IDB Invest’s social media corporate channels
- Manage workflow with designers, producers and translators to develop artwork and multimedia content
- Provide performance reports based on KPIs and campaigns
- Monitor digital conversations, manage reputational risks, and respond to online queries
- Conduct employee advocacy trainings for IDB Invest employees
What you’ll need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, or another related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Languages: Perfect command of English and Spanish (Portuguese proficiency is also desirable).

- Excellent writing and editing, for digital use.
- Online community management experience and knowledge of industry best practices.
- Solid understanding of current industry standards and techniques for digital content creation.
- In-depth understanding of private sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Superior attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration:
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 24 months.
- Work Location: On site.
