Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Incentives Program Manager and CAPEX Support (Full-Time)This role has primary responsibilities to ensure Linde Canada is successful in its obtaining and realizing incentives available for new investments including Federal and Provincial with a focus on the fields of energy and carbon policy. Linde Canada has recently signed a large project for the supply of clean hydrogen for which various incentive programs are available including grants, tax credits, emissions credits, and related environmental attributes, etc. In addition to that, the business will continue to work on new investments where our success in obtaining potential incentives will play a key role in our project’s competitiveness and economic success. Given the inherent importance of incentives on realizing new capital growth investments and their complexities, this role will also be active in supporting the analysis and modeling of new capital investments.Key Accountabilities:Drive Linde Gas Canada’s incentive program for new capital investments for existing and new opportunities.

  • Manage funding proposal / application process for incentive programs including available clean hydrogen and related incentives for the recently announced Dow-Alberta clean hydrogen project and future similar opportunities. Coordinate with engineering, business development, legal, and finance on the collection and submission of relevant information and documentation.
  • Coordinate with government affairs to facilitate discussions with government agencies to support existing applications, understand available programs, and explore new programs being developed.
  • Work with Finance to ensure available incentives can be realized through required reporting and tracking.
  • Become viewed by Linde Gas as an expert in Canada incentive programs and clean hydrogen / carbon policy.
  • Understand Linde technologies and their applicability for available incentive schemes.
  • Contribute to the development of project analysis and capex modeling including assumptions and sensitivities on potential incentives.
  • Support project review presentations to explain available incentive programs, requirements and business case assumptions and risks.
  • Coordinate with key customers, often large multi-national companies, on approach and strategy for incentive and credits.

Reporting Relationship:This position will report to the VP of Finance.Location: Mississauga, ON, Calgary, AB, or Edmonton, ABQualificationsQualifications and Background:Strong leadership, organization, and influencing skills required with cross-functional interactions both internally within Linde and externally with government agencies and customers.

  • Excellent communicator comfortable interacting across technical, commercial, and financial functions. Comfortable with presenting to senior management internally and with customers.
  • Project management mindset – ability to manage a long-term task from initial application through to implementation.
  • Knowledge of industrial gases and applications.
  • Prior experience managing application process for Canadian incentive, environmental attribute program. As a minimum, awareness and basic knowledge of incentive programs and processes. Proven willingness and capability to develop new area into expert knowledge level.
  • Excellent influencing and facilitation skills, experience in managing cross functional groups and developing strategic relationships and networks. A true team leader who can motivate and inspire through natural authority.
  • Excellent understanding of capital project business cases and financial evaluation considerations. Ability and interest to learn.

Experience / Background:

  • Engineering degree or business degree with proven commercial experience.
  • Strong experience in the managing of multi-disciplinary teams without direct reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.
  • Strong understanding of project management, leading workstreams and tracking deliverables.
  • 5+ years marketing, on-site sales, on-site business management and/or sales technology experience preferred.
  • Travel required.
