Indirect Spend Category Manager

HYBRID ROLE BASED OUT OF OUR ATLANTA OFFICE

Job Purpose:

Our Indirect Sourcing Category Leader will be responsible for maintaining an adequate quantity of essential materials or services required for the business to operate. Other duties may include managing stock inventories, creating extensive and detailed requirements specifications for the required products/services, tendering with potential suppliers, evaluating competing bids and negotiating prices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing specific Indirect Categories, including but not limited to utilities, couriers, equipment, services, software and hardware.
• Responsible for developing and implementing category strategies collaborating with our Business Partners.
• Vendor negotiations, Vendor performance, Vendor management and contract development responsibilities.
• Create a collaborative environment for the selection of key vendors for your assigned categories.
• Conduct RFP/RFQ’s and manage process beginning to end. Provide market analysis.
• Negotiate contracts terms regarding data security and performance metrics to drive value to Veritiv.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external customers including suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills with a heavy focus on details required.
• Demonstrated successful leadership through influence.
• Skilled at negotiating out of/through end of term contracts.
• Sourcing experience preferred.

Work Experience:

• 5-10 years of related job experience.

education:

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
