Position SummaryIn this position, you’ll divide your time between:The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (60%) – teaching undergraduate and graduate students, developing curriculum, and mentoring design and technical projects.The ICE Incubator (40%) – supporting entrepreneurial learning, mentoring students in start-up ventures and commercialization initiatives, and helping deliver co-curricular programming in innovation and technology translation.Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate credit courses in electrical/computer engineering and entrepreneurship.
  • Develop engaging course materials, assessments, and instructional strategies.
  • Mentor students in capstone, innovation, or startup projects.
  • Support co-curricular initiatives in the ICE Incubator.
  • Collaborate with internal units such as eHUB and the Student Innovation Centre.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, program improvement, and department governance
  • Participate in teaching-related service and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Professional Engineer in Alberta.

Skills & Competencies Considered an Asset

  • Passion for teaching and mentoring.
  • Industry insight and a drive to bridge theory and practice.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, engage students, and create inclusive learning environments.
  • Experience with innovation, product development, or entrepreneurship is an asset.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
