The Position:
UNFPA is expanding its global presence with a new office in Nairobi, Kenya, serving as an extension of its headquarters in New York. This office, projected to house approximately 150 personnel, will play a key role in supporting UNFPA’s work in the region and beyond.
The Information and Communications Technology Analyst position is critical to the success of this new office. Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Platforms and Services Specialist in New York, the ICT Analyst role is an integrated part of the Information Technology Solutions Office (ITSO) located at its headquarters in New York. The role will be responsible for the initial setup of the ICT infrastructure and the ongoing oversight, management and provision of ICT support services. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the implementation of UNFPA ICT policies, systems, networking, and security standards in the office and for coordination of technical support by managed service providers.

Job Purpose:
The ICT Analyst ensures that technology is used effectively and efficiently within the Nairobi office, in alignment with the ICT policies and strategies, to support UNFPA’s mission and maximize its impact on achievement of the ICPD and SDG goals. Key results expected include:

A. Ensuring that corporate ICT strategies and plans are properly implemented:
B. Ensuring effective end-user ICT support by providing advisory support services, training, troubleshooting services and ad-hoc ICT assistance to users:
C. Ensuring responsible management of information technology resources.
D. Providing support to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the ICT system, LAN/WAN and data security, including user access to computer and telecommunications facilities.
