JOB SUMMARY

The Information Management Consultant will lead a needs assessment for MedGlobal’s information management systems and processes, working closely with global and field teams. The consultant will design and oversee the implementation of a robust, user-friendly IM platform tailored to the organization’s operational and strategic needs.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Needs Assessment

    • Conduct a thorough assessment of current IM tools, systems, and workflows used across MedGlobal’s global and field offices.
    • Engage with key stakeholders, including program managers, MEAL teams, and field staff, to identify challenges, gaps, and requirements for the IM platform.
    • Review compliance requirements, data protection policies, and sector best practices to ensure alignment.
  2. Platform Design

    • Develop a comprehensive IM strategy and roadmap based on assessment findings.
    • Propose technology solutions that meet identified needs, focusing on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use.
    • Define system specifications, user roles, and integration points with existing systems, including MEAL frameworks and operational workflows.
  3. Implementation

    • Coordinate the procurement and customization of the selected IM platform.
    • Develop detailed implementation plans, including timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements.
    • Oversee platform deployment, ensuring compatibility with organizational workflows and technical infrastructure.
  4. Training and Capacity Building

    • Develop training materials and deliver capacity-building sessions to global and field teams.
    • Provide ongoing support to ensure user adoption and troubleshoot implementation challenges.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Establish mechanisms for continuous monitoring, feedback, and improvement of the IM system.
    • Conduct a post-implementation review to evaluate the platform’s effectiveness and recommend enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing information management systems, preferably in the humanitarian or healthcare sectors.
  • Proven experience conducting needs assessments and developing tailored IM solutions.
  • Strong technical expertise in IM tools, databases, and platforms (e.g., DHIS2, Power BI, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and best practices in humanitarian data management.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs or in low-resource settings is highly desirable.

Deliverables

  1. Comprehensive needs assessment report with recommendations for IM platform design.
  2. Detailed implementation roadmap and system specifications.
  3. Fully deployed and operational IM platform.
  4. Training materials and completion of capacity-building sessions for users.
  5. Post-implementation review report with lessons learned and recommendations.
