Overview

The Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) seeks a dynamic individual to assist the Board Chair and Executive Director in outreach and education and external communications. A focus of the position is informing and working with the Vermont Legislature, the public and educating Vermonters on the regulatory work of the Board. 

The GMCB is an independent, five-member board that seeks to improve the health of Vermonters through a high-quality, accessible, and sustainable health care system. The GMCB’s duties and responsibilities can be found on its website. The Board’s employees are State of Vermont employees and eligible for all state benefits. The Board is open to remote/flexible work schedules.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting, with some travel occasionally required. Must be able to diplomatically respond to outside inquiries and to differences of opinion.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in policy, public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field AND two (2) or more years of experience in communications, public, government or media relations, policy writing or development, consumer education, or related field.

OR

Four (4) or more years of experience in policy, communications, public, government or media relations, policy writing or development, consumer education, or related field.
