As an Information Management Partner your role is to ensures the Enterprise Information Management program consistently and effectively meets legal and regulatory requirements through business relationships, education and training development, data control, stewardship of the records retention program. You will assist the Manager, Information Management in the implementation of the records retention and deposition program across operating areas and Corporate Groups. Your role is accountable for collaboration with Corporate Groups and Operating Areas in developing the records retention plan and disposition processes required for the control and management of records and information to ensure effective management throughout their lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, approval coordination and implementation of Irving Oil’s records retention plan.
- Development and monitoring of the records disposition program using Irving Oil Records Retention Plan to support operational and legal requirements.
- Develop meaningful and fit for purpose reporting for the lifecycle management of Irving Oil data, information and records
- Manage the analysis, identification and integration of established processes across the organization relating to the management of data, information and records created by on behalf of Irving Oil.
- Make decisions and recommendations to minimize risk to Corporate and Operating Areas potentially impacted by records retention and disposition program.
- Analyze large volumes of information within complex/interdependent work processes, including assessment/interpretation of regulations and recognize areas where business processes are lacking, non-compliant and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with IM colleagues on strategic initiatives, ensuring the required support, resources, and capabilities are in place.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the development and implementation of an inventory of critical documents related to the disposition program.
- Identify change management requirements to ensure adequate business processes and controls are implemented to support people, work process and technology.
- Lead engagement and provide Information Management consultative services to stakeholders for the development of the records retention plan and disposition program.
- Works independently and receives guidance in the most complex situations. May lead teams or projects with moderate complexity. May provide guidance to others in own area of expertise.
Your Skills:
- Strong communication & collaboration skills required to engage with stakeholders at various levels in persistent and potentially challenging discussions.
- Strong capability to analyze large volumes of information within complex/interdependent work processes, including assessment/interpretation of regulations and recognize areas where business processes are lacking, non-compliant and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Project Management experience is an asset and may be required to support selected Value Centers initiatives.
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Responsible for identifying change management requirements to ensure adequate business processes and controls are implemented to support people, work process and technology
- Ability to identify impacted processes, make decisions and recommendations to minimize risk to Corporate and Operating Areas potentially impacted by process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills required to effectively understand complex processes and knowledge of functional areas in the identification of potential impacts to other areas of the organization.
Your Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related discipline
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to information management, business analysis, continuous improvement, information systems, regulatory compliance
- Master’s Degree specializing in information or archival studies considered an asset. Information Governance Certification considered as asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical and practical information management issues
- Ability to work through and analyze information within complex work processes, and identify opportunities to implement new processes
- Experience interpreting legislation and policy requirements related to information management considered an asset.
