The IT Director plays a critical role in supporting effective municipal operations by providing strategic and operational leadership for the City’s information technology services. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, security, and day-to-day operation of the City’s technology systems, ensuring they reliably support service delivery, internal operations, and organizational goals.In addition to managing IT staff, budgets, cybersecurity, data governance, and disaster- recovery capabilities, the IT Director oversees technology services delivered through shared-service and intergovernmental arrangements. The position works closely with executive leadership, elected officials, department heads, vendors, and external partners to ensure technology solutions are secure, efficient, cost-effective, and responsive to the needs of the City and the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Six or more years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, including enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and technology service delivery.
• At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Municipal or public-sector experience is preferred.
• Professional certifications in IT, cybersecurity, project management, or continuous improvement (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma) are preferred but not required.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position will be considered. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required upon appointment and throughout employment.
