https://ualr.edu/informationscience/Summary of Job Duties:This position is a full-time, 12 Month Instructor position. The Department of Information Science seeks an excellent, student-centered instructor with the ability to teach and mentor students in technical areas such as front-end development, web design, database, programming, and project management. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

Required Education and/or experience:

  • Master’s Degree;

  • Strong technical skills in front-end development, including standards-based website design, database, and programming fundamentals;

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Two years of teaching experience;

  • Two years of leadership experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work well with others across multiple areas (e.g., business/professional skills, mass and applied communications, and fine arts);

  • Advise students;

  • Engage in student recruitment and retention initiatives;

  • Participate in faculty governance and program accreditation efforts;

  • Pursue professional development opportunities that can lead to new course offerings;

  • Expand the school’s community outreach activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • Good organization skills;

  • Commitment to inclusive teaching;

  • Ability to provide effective mentorship.
