Internal Title Instructor of Information Management Position Type Instructor School/Area School of Business Department Supply Chain and Information Management Position Description

The Department of Supply Chain and Information Management in the School of Business at the College of Charleston seeks qualified applicants for a non-tenure-track full-time faculty position in Information Management, starting in August 2026.

Ideal applicants will have a background in the areas of business analytics, business statistics, information systems, and/or enterprise systems.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate business courses in the areas of MIS, including for example introductory courses in information systems, business analytics, or business statistics. The teaching load for an instructor position at the College of Charleston is typically four (4) courses per semester (a total of 12 credit hours).
  • Developing new courses as they relate to the strategic objectives of the Department and the School by utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance the success of diverse learners.
  • Participating in service activities, such as student mentoring and committee assignments.

Preference will be given to candidates that are enthusiastic, collegial, engaged with students, good communicators, and natural boundary spanners within (supply chain and business analytics) and across departments.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a graduate degree or higher in Management Information Systems, or a closely related business discipline from an AACSB accredited institution. Candidates should possess a demonstrated experience in teaching or ability to teach undergraduate coursework. Professional experience in information management is highly valued.
