Disinfects, sterilizes, and assembles surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. position is characterized by the ability to recognize surgical instruments and surgical instrument trays typically assembled in applicable area.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1. Central Service Technician Certification:
   1. Inpatient sterile processing CRCST or CSPDT certification.
   2. Outpatient sterile processing CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT certification.
   3. For GI Labs, CFER is acceptable.
2. For Surgical Services: Accepted into the Northside SPD Internship or a Graduate of an accredited program in Sterile Processing or a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with less than 12 months experience.
3. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
