We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in the Machinery Manufacturing industry, located in North York, Ontario. This role demands a high level of organization and attention to detail, with responsibilities including processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary.Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
  • Maintain up-to-date customer credit records
  • Execute daily and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis and strategic insights to the management team
  • Support the daily operations of the accounting function, including journal entries and transactions related to the general ledger, revenue and receivables, payables and inventory, and taxation
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies in line with Private GAAP standards
  • Monitor, forecast, and manage cash flow activities to ensure optimal liquidity
  • Prepare routine banking reports
  • Assist in coordinating and executing annual financial statement audits and external statutory audits
  • Review and enhance existing procedures by implementing new tools and processes to improve efficiency.

Qualification:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the machinery manufacturing industry.
  • Proven proficiency in account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Solid experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), involving regular interaction with clients and suppliers.
  • Experience in managing billing processes, including the preparation, issuing, and tracking of invoices.
  • Strong data entry skills, demonstrating high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in invoice processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with Oracle for financial management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks, including invoicing, bill payment, and financial report generation.
  • Familiarity with SAP for financial management, demonstrating an understanding of its various modules and functionality.
