The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.We are looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer who will join our Mechanical and Piping Team. This role will be in our Vancouver office under the Resources team. In collaboration with the team, the Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will be called upon to assume responsibility for a multitude of multidisciplinary projects and studies industries such as the Mining, Oil and Gas, Chemical, Wastewater and water as well as other Industrial sectors. The successful candidate should have strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, proven track record on deliverables, solid industry experience, and excellent business acumen and will be key in growing in our Western Canadian team.Responsibilities

  • Participate and produce various deliverables in line with the project needs;
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off deliverables;
  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients
  • Design plant & facility layout
  • Design various mechanical equipment such as: API tank, CSA/ASME piping, pumps, compressors and various manufacturing equipment
  • Able to understand control and process narratives as well as P&ID
  • Collaboratively supporting business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge, & resources
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects opportunities
  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies
  • Development & implementation of budgets
  • Conduct site visits as required
  • Provide technical support to the site supervision team
  • Profile
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters and PHD considered assets
  • Minimum of 5 years of providing Engineering design services in a consulting environment and/or Brownfield projects;
  • Proven organizational, analytical, & problem-solving skills;
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change;
  • Excellent Communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • P.Eng certification and Member of a Canadian engineering association.
  • Strong technical calculation skills with experience in Python

The expected salary for this position is from $90,000 to $115,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity.
