Description:

Park Ranger Mounted Unit – Intern

An internship with the DCR Mounted Park Rangers prepares college students for the field. Whether your career goal is law enforcement, equestrian, or conservation, this internship has a variety of opportunities available to you to strengthen your professional experience.

Interns will learn the many aspects of environmental, equine, and enforcement fields along with the inner workings of a mounted park rangers’ duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observational and introduction to mounted patrol deployments, trainings, programs, ceremonial and special events,
  • Introduction to environmental and equine management Studies,
  • Statistical/data/report classifying/organizing, up-to-date business card files and reports,
  • Grant researching/writing,
  • Brochures, flyers, calendars, and unit information updates

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Knowledge: Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
  • Basic Knowledge: Comfortable working in/around equines, felines, and other farm animals.
  • Per school requirements, to be further discussed with unit.

The position is scheduled for June 2-August 15,2025 at approximately 30 hours/week.
