As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2025 Intern to join our Device Drivers team in Plano, TX. This role has been designated for a 100% Onsite arrangement

Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers.

Our formal Summer Internship program will begin in late-May / early-June and continue through mid-August. Over the past several years, our internship program has led to dozens of full-time offers to program alumni. We are committed to helping participants in the program succeed in their future by providing opportunities for growth and advancement. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected intern will have an exciting opportunity at hands-on work with Crestron’s Quality Engineering team supporting driver testing for third party product support at Crestron. You will help validate new devices, new device types, and verify existing devices continue to work across multiple platforms. Project work and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Execution of existing test cases for multiple drivers and devices
  • Assisting in development of test cases for new types of devices
  • Debugging and troubleshooting of tested drivers
  • Working closely with the driver development team to secure driver releases.

Working in the Device Drivers capacity will provide the student with a unique look at a wide variety of Crestron products while also offering indispensable experience and insight into a facet of Quality Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS 

General Requirements 

  • Must be enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week, onsite, during the entire internship period
  • Must be commutable to and from the Plano, TX area for the duration of the internship period
  • Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future

Technical Skills 

  • Familiarity with one or more scripting languages
  • Familiarity with JSON
  • Familiarity with device types in the AV space, including but not limited to TVs, AVRs, Media Players, AV Switchers, Cameras, and Microphones
  • Ability to troubleshoot device and communication problems

Other Skills 

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate work at different levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Inquisitive individual with a “student mentality”
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
  • Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with other across various divisions
