• Background research on the phenomenon of child association with terrorist groups in the Philippines, as well as on existing prevention and responses at national level conducted. • Research methodology and tools conceptualised, designed and implemented for a study on the phenomenon of child association with terrorist groups in South and South-East Asia that consolidates research gap analysis; and includes recommendations for knowledge production and identified promising practices. • A report on the phenomenon of child association with terrorist groups in South and South-East Asia that consolidates research gap analysis; and includes recommendations for knowledge production and identified promising practices conducted. • An analysis of relevant funding opportunities (public and private sector) to support mobilization of funds for UNODC’s implementation of Strategy to End Violence Against Children 2023-2030 conducted. • A range of materials developed – incorporating specialised knowledge on child recruitment and exploitation by terrorist groups and with a focus on national contexts – through which the achievements of the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’ can be disseminated. • Provide substantive input to the development of project proposals, including for fundraising purposes, to ensure continuity and sustainability of results achieved under the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’. • The final evaluation of the Global Programme to End Violence against Children and the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’ supported (including through induction of evaluators; organization of desk review materials that are fully reflective of specialised knowledge built on child recruitment and exploitation by terrorist groups; and acting as focal point for evaluators in relation to coordinating data collection including field missions). • Monitoring and evaluation for the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’ coordinated, including coaching staff and personnel for the effective implementation of the monitoring and evaluation system; and designing methodology for the compilation of achievements and lessons learned. • Training activities on child protection from terrorism in Indonesia conceptualized and prepared. • The background documentation for a regional capacity-building event on rehabilitation and reintegration of children associated with terrorist groups in South and South-East Asia conceptualized and developed. • Substantive knowledge and expertise on child recruitment and exploitation by terrorist groups provided to the development of a range of materials through which the global achievements of the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’ can be disseminated. • A preliminary review of inception report for final evaluation of the Global Programme to End Violence against Children and the project ‘STRIVE Juvenile: Preventing and Responding to Violence against Children by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups’ highlighting any areas for concern and potential resolutions completed.

Duties and Responsibilities
International consultant to provide support in the implementation of projects and activities in the End Violence against Children portfolio. Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 1 year of experience in international cooperation and/or development is required. Experience of carrying out research is required. Specialist knowledge on children recruited by armed groups including by terrorist groups is required. Experience in working with the United Nations system or similar international organization is desirable. Experience of facilitating United Nations-European Union cooperation is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and French with excellent drafting and communication skills is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an advantage.
