IT Administrator II – Blacksburg, VA

VPT, Inc., has an immediate opening for an IT Administrator II at our Blacksburg, VA location. This position will be an integral part of our IT team. The IT Administrator II will be responsible for supporting and maintaining existing infrastructure and support the IT team in projects to further the goals of the IT department. This position does require occasional travel to other VPT offices. After hours and on-call support is also required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine maintenance and backup of IT systems and networks
• Assist in IT projects and initiatives
• Research and evaluate improvements to current IT solutions
• Mentor and train junior IT staff
• Carry after-hours phone and handle advanced troubleshooting
• Providing training to end users

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated advanced IT skills and knowledge
• Ability to identify and resolve IT issues proactively
• Demonstrated advanced understanding of 1 or more enterprise systems such as the ERP, CRM, Server Virtualization stock or networking infrastructure
• 3 – 5 years of experience in IT with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree relevant to the position, relevant certifications or equivalent experience
