The IT Director is responsible for overseeing the information technology strategy, operations, and infrastructure for the State of Delaware. This role involves managing a team of IT professionals, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, and aligning technology initiatives with the state’s goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the state’s IT strategy, ensuring it aligns with broader governmental objectives.
• Leadership: Lead and manage the IT department, including hiring, training, and evaluating IT staff.
• Budget Management: Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for technology projects and services.
• Project Management: Oversee IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Policy Development: Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulations and security protocols.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and software applications.
• Cybersecurity: Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect state data and systems from threats.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure IT services and products, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with other state departments and agencies to identify technology needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to state leadership on IT performance, projects, and initiatives.
