Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests received via Helpdesk ticket, email, phone call, or in person at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or in support of field staff. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues, as well as installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to IT support requests via Helpdesk ticket, email, phone, or in-person at the SEOC or field sites
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose software and hardware issues remotely or on-site
  • Determine appropriate solutions based on issue descriptions and user input
  • Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware components of computer systems, printers, and other IT equipment
  • Assist in imaging and provisioning laptops for SEOC or field staff use
  • Provide clear and effective communication and customer service to end users
  • Track and document IT support tasks in ticketing system
  • Maintain an inventory of IT support resources and equipment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose software and hardware issues
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • experience supporting desktop and laptop systems, including Windows OS
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and documentation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience imaging and provisioning laptops for deployment
  • Familiarity with network printers, scanners, and common office equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based tools
  • Prior experience supporting IT operations during emergency response events

  • Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)
  • Relocation Assistance: Not applicable
  • Clearance Required: None
  • Travel Required: Yes – up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

Work is typically performed in office environments such as the SEOC, with occasional travel to field sites. Extended work hours beyond 12 hours per day may be required during emergency activations or major incidents.
