Position Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian in our Medical Clinic located at Yorktown Naval Weapon Station. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position provides effective and efficient maintenance of cleanliness in accordance with either the site requirements on a non-government work site or as described in the Statement of Work incorporated into any government contract between VersAbility Resources and the U.S. Government. This work is performed during variable hours as determined by our customer and to meet their specifications.
Our Custodian position participates in the Ability One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positions
Primary Responsibilities
* Ensuring the completion of custodial duties during the assigned shift through manual performance. These tasks include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms/bathrooms, refilling restroom dispensers, high/low dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, wet or dry mopping, floor stripping and waxing, and trash removal.
* Responsible for obtaining the appropriate supplies and equipment (provided) necessary to perform all duties. Ensuring supplies and equipment are maintained in a condition that is safe and effective. This includes following the guidelines for chemical use on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of each product.
* Responsible for participating in meetings and training, as directed by their supervisor and/or site manager.
* Responsible for completing reports and documentation concerning custodial performance and responsibilities, such as requests for leave.
* Responsible for maintaining an open line of communication with the supervisor and/or site manager. This includes relaying information concerning performance, such as improved performance or a need for additional training.
* Responsible for maintaining quality standards as determined by the quality assurance designated individual and/or site manager.
* Responsible for promoting and maintaining positive lines of communication with the various personnel working in the facility.
* Responsible for providing quality customer service.
* Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and safe work area.
* Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures as set forth by VersAbility Resources, Inc. and the customer.

education: High School Diploma or equivalent
experience: No experience necessary. May require valid driver’s license.
Environmental
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside and outside. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be noisy, depending upon the task at hand. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, travel from one building to another, push heavy equipment, twist at neck and waist, reach, and kneel.
