Job Overview:You will be working within BIC’s National Account team, alongside other Key Account Managers, and will be supported by a Senior Key Account Manager. The primary focus of the role is to drive sustainable sales and distribution growth, and visibility across our Stationery, Shaver, and Lighter categories in a number of key discount and high street retailers.You will preferably have FMCG National Account experience that demonstrates your track record of building effective working relationships with your customers. You will also need to manage a wide range of internal stakeholders embracing a “One Team” approach, working collaboratively with RGM, Marketing, Category management, Finance, Customer Service, & Demand Planning to deliver common business goals.What You will Do:
- Targets & objectives in collaboration with your Line Manager you will set smart channel and customer targets and objectives for Net sales, distribution, visibility, and financial targets, and ensure delivery of these.
- Joint business Plans Manage commercial negotiations and agree Joint business plans with all customers (sales targets, range, distribution, space share, promotional plans etc..) in line with business priorities.
- Financial control: Ensure accurate weekly and monthly updates are completed to sales and volume forecasts. Ensure NS and GP delivery in line with objectives. Ensure accuracy & quality of all commercial proposals prior to submission for sign-off.
- Strategic planning: Agree and deliver customer commercial objectives and business plans to accelerate growth in line with business objectives. Develop plans, and solutions to maximise sales and distribution and to mitigate risks
- Identify customer needs and opportunities based on a clear market & customer analysis in conjunction with the Marketing & Cat man team
- Develop customer partnerships based on product expertise and trade management together with Marketing Manager to develop BIC seen BIC sold.
- Forecasting: provide customer forecasts for base and promotional sales, share with demand planning during monthly forecast meetings, & achieve forecast accuracy in line with company targets
- Optimise internal communication about your customers and channels with other departments e.g. Marketing, Category Management Customer Service and Finance. Represent Channel & Customers at all internal meetings
- Team effectiveness Work cross functionally to help develop customer intimacy (Cat-Man / Marketing support etc).
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 5 years sales experience in FMCG & with a proven track record in major customers
- Experience in category management is an asset
- Business & results orientated with proven negotiation skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
- Ability to set up clear sales and marketing plans in line with business priorities
- Analytical, accurate, and quick to interpret data (P&L, Market data)
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency vs priorities, well structured, and organised
- Good communicator (internally and externally), strong team player.
