Laborer

Wisconsin River Power Company, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Laborer in our Necedah, Wisconsin location.

Starting pay is 26.21 per hour.

Job Summary

The Laborer focuses on a variety of tasks including maintaining grounds, parking lots, project access areas including shorelines, boat ramps and docks. This position provides general house keeping and maintenance of buildings and power houses and may also be assigned to other related and incidental duties as associated with generation stations.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and project access areas including shorelines, boat ramps and docks:
• Mow grass
• Pick up and dispose of litter
• Repair fences, barricades, observation towers docks and stairs
• Place signage
• Shovel or plow snow
• Painting and staining of structures
• Trimming of trees and shrubs
• Provide general house keeping and maintenance of buildings and power houses:
• General janitorial functions such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming
• Painting of walls fixtures and equipment
• Monitor, correct or report building maintenance deficiencies
• Replace lamps, light bulbs and fixture lenses
• Assemble office furniture and equipment
• Move furniture and equipment
• Clean restrooms, assembly areas, offices, control rooms and power houses
• Dispose of refuse
• Operate chain saw and other power equipment 
• Related and incidental duties as associated with generation stations:
• Pick up and deliver mail, materials and supplies
• Assist other WRPC operations or contract employees as required (this includes the operation and maintenance of generating facilities)
• Perform light vehicle maintenance as required
• Operate heavy equipment
• Operate barge and associated equipment
• Provide work direction and oversight to summer students
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Drivers License
• Valid Wisconsin Drivers License with a CDL endorsement or the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of acceptance of the position and remain valid for the length of employment
• Must have a phone and live within 45 minutes response time to the Necedah Service Center, as defined by the Emergency Action Plan or the ability to relocate within one (1) year of starting in the role

Minimum Posting Range: $26.21

Maximum Posting Range: $28.72

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
