The lactation consultant will act as a member of the interdisciplinary team to obtain optimal clinical outcomes. The lactation consultant will adhere to the goals, philosophy, standards, and guidelines of Texas Health Huguley. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** · Assess, reassess, develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care, as a member of the multidisciplinary care team, in conjunction with the patient and patient’s family. The lactation consultant will: · Obtain and document an appropriate history of the breastfeeding mother and child. · Systemically collect objective and subjective information, including but not limited to physical appearance and health status of mother and baby. · Assessment information will be discussed with the mother, documented in the medical record, and communicated to the primary health care provider as appropriate. · Analyze assessment information to identify concerns and/or problems and develop a plan of care based on identified concerns or problems and the mother’s breastfeeding goals.
