Duties and Responsibilities:– Assist lawyers with drafting documents such as pleadings, affidavits, motions, and various notices;– Aid in trial preparation, pre-trial briefs, and hearings;– Review and assist in file materials and drafting assessment;– Assist with dockets and billing;– Open, close, and manage legal files, such as requesting, indexing, and organizing documentary productions;– Summarizing and briefing of medical documentation;– Request, review and follow up on answers to undertakings;– Summarize and review transcripts of examinations for discovery;– Participate in claim analysis’s;– Liaise professionally with all counsel, clients, insurance companies, and other legal professionals; and– Assist with additional tasks as required.Requirements:– 5+ years of experience as an Insurance Defence Law Clerk;– Law Clerk Diploma from a recognized institution;– A strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure;– Excellent computer skills including Word, Outlook, and DMS;– Strong verbal and written communication skills; and– Excellent work ethic and team-player attitude.
