Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing Functional Consultant to join our Utilities team. The ideal candidate should have deep domain expertise in utilities billing processes, strong hands-on configuration skills, and experience working across end-to-end SAP IS-U implementations and support projects.

This role will involve designing, configuring, and supporting complex billing scenarios, as well as integrating with other SAP modules like FICA and CRM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and configuration of SAP IS-U Billing components including:
  • Rate categories, rate types, operands
  • Schemas, rate maintenance, calculation rules
  • Time-of-use billing, dynamic pricing models
  • Billing classes, division-specific billing
• Manage billing execution and invoicing processes, including mass processing, automation, and performance tuning.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, and support unit testing, UAT, and go-live.
• Collaborate with technical teams to implement enhancements and customizations (user exits, BAPIs, BADIs).
• Troubleshoot billing issues and provide detailed root cause analysis and resolutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., FICA, Device Management, CRM-ISU, SD/MM).
• Participate in Agile/Scrum or traditional SDLC delivery frameworks.
• Support regulatory reporting and market communication processes as needed.

Required:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing
• Strong understanding of utilities-specific business processes, especially in electricity and gas domains
• Experience with Smart Metering, Billing Master Data Configuration, and SAP Energy Data Management
• Deep experience in SAP IS-U to CRM integration
• Familiarity with manual billing, billing simulation, unbilled revenue handling
• Strong documentation skills: Functional specs, test scripts, training materials
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA for Utilities
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud for Utilities (C4U)
• Working knowledge of ABAP integration points (user exits, BAdIs for billing)
• Experience in regulatory compliance and reporting in utility environments
• Proven success in global delivery models and cross-cultural teams
