Internship at the Strategy, Policy, and Partnerships Department (SPD) /European Representative Office (ERO)

1. Internship Topic
Supporting conceptualization and production of written, visual and audiovisual materials to communicate ADB partnerships in Europe

2. Summary of Job Description
The purpose of this internship is to support ADB’s European Representative Office (ERO) in producing impactful communication materials to communicate ADB partnerships in Europe. The intern will help research, script, design, and produce content, including videos, animations, articles, and summaries, that showcase ADB’s key collaborations and achievements in Europe. This content will be used for ERO’s 30th anniversary celebrations and other communication plans to raise awareness about ADB’s role and partnerships in the region. The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
a) Research & Content Development:
• Research and gather historical data, statistics, and relevant images regarding projects, operations, events, trust funds, etc.
• Analyze and synthesize ADB’s collaboration activities, projects, and milestones in Europe to highlight the most significant achievements.
• Write scripts, summaries, and articles that effectively communicate the impact of ADB’s partnerships in Europe.
b) Visual and Audiovisual Content Creation:
• Produce animations, videos, infographics, visual summaries, and data-driven illustrations.
• Create short videos, including storyboarding, scripting, and editing, to illustrate key partnerships and achievements using audiovisual software such as Adobe Premier Pro or similar.
c) Design and Animation:
• Utilize graphic design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar) to create animations and visual content that will be used across ADB’s social media channels, website, and other communication platforms.
• Support the design and layout of publications, reports, and digital materials.
d) Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with ADB’s communications team to refine and finalize content.
• Coordinate with external partners, when necessary, to gather supplementary information, images, or interviews.
• Provide regular updates and contribute to brainstorming sessions on creative ideas for the 30th anniversary celebrations.
e) Final Deliverables:
• A communication plan aimed to enhance ADB visibility across its key stakeholders that will include:
i. a comprehensive collection of written materials (scripts, articles, summaries) for use in written, visual and audiovisual communication products commemorating ERO 30th Anniversary;
ii. a series of visually compelling designs, including infographics, social media posts, and animations that tell the story of ADB’s impact in Europe;
iii. a series of videos and visual content produced and ready for distribution during the anniversary campaign; and
iv. final report summarizing key findings, materials produced, and the impact of the intern’s contributions.

Timing: 11 weeks
Duration: June 2025 onwards

5. Expected Outcomes
The internship will result in the creation of a communication plan aimed to increase ADB visibility in social media, including the production of high-quality written, visual, and audiovisual materials that effectively communicate the milestones and achievements of ADB’s European Office 30th year Anniversary in Europe. The intern will gain experience in strategic communication planning, content creation, design, research, and communications in the context of an international development organization.

Qualifications

6. Education Requirements
• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Communications, Digital Design, Graphic Design, or a related/relevant field.
• Strong interest in international development and communication strategies for a global audience

7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
• Strong proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and experience creating infographics, presentations, and animations.
• Experience in producing short-form videos, including scriptwriting, editing, and using video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
• Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into engaging, accessible formats.
• Proficiency in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Previous experience or academic background in development, international organizations, or digital media is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
