Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Lead Dining Service Associate (DSA) for North Dining Hall. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

Why this position?

The Lead Dining Service Associate reports to the dining service manager, supporting the mission and goals of a “Best in Class” dining program. As a service operations member of a dynamic dining hall operation, this position will support the daily operations of the dining hall. This “front-of-house” position is critical to ensuring all diners feel welcome by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere and being responsive to the changing needs and desires of customers.

Essential duties include:

  • Complete general assignments related to the preparation, presentation, service and clean-up of food production and service through standards of service and hospitality
  • Prepare work areas for service; set up and clean equipment and facilities
  • Participate in general assignments, such as, preparation of beverages, salads or desserts
  • Participate in special or catered events within the dining hall or elsewhere on campus
  • Responsible for performing tasks related to the appearance, safety and sanitation of food service facilities
  • Responsible for various cleaning/maintenance duties including but not limited to; cleaning public restrooms and dining areas, attending to building exterior to ensure cleanliness, sweep, mop, vacuum, change lights as needed, clean/move and set up tables and chairs, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 6 months experience
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe food safety training
  • Requires constant walking and standing
