Job Details
The Lead Environmental Service Aide’s primary responsibility is to maintain a clean environment for all patients, visitors and staff. The Lead is responsible for assigning daily tasks for facilitate the flow of the peri-op areas. The lead will coordinate the room priorities. They are responsible for the daily routine cleaning of all patient rooms, misc. areas, offices, public areas and public restrooms, all hallways, elevators and staircases and waste removal.
Responsibilities of the Lead Environmental Service Aide include:
- Practices hand hygiene before and after patient care and after removing gloves.
- Carry and respond to walkie talkie and/or Rover.
- Responsible for assigning daily tasks to coordinate the flow of the peri-op area to facilitate the flow.
- Assign breaks to housekeeping staff accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with nursing leadership team to anticipate needs of peri-op area.
- Cleans and disinfects operating rooms between surgical procedures to assist with an efficient turnover.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of equipment rooms.
- Stocks and cleans scrub sink areas and center core.
- Cleans and disinfects all equipment in the operating rooms, safely removes sharps containers as necessary.
- Ensuring safety: Monitoring compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Inspecting: Checking that cleaning standards have been met and reporting any issues
- Coordinating annual cleanings and work activities with Supervisor and Director.
- Managing supplies: Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and reorder as needed.
- Assists in the general orientation of new employees by providing direct teaching in learning proper care of equipment and the disinfection of the operating room
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Complies with all requirements related to risk management, safety, security, fire, and infection control. Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.
Requirements for the Lead Environmental Service Aide include:
- High School diploma, GED, or any work experience.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Must have prior hospital housekeeping experience.
Salary Range
USD $25.23 – USD $25.23 /Hr.
