Lead Sustaining Engineer – LightWELD

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Sustaining Engineer to take ownership of ongoing engineering support for LightWELD. In this pivotal role, you will lead cross-functional efforts to improve product performance, resolve field and manufacturing issues, and implement design and process enhancements throughout the product lifecycle. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to shape the long-term reliability, quality, and value of an innovative, high-impact product.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for sustaining engineering efforts on the LightWELD product line
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for field and production issues
• Drive and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), documentation updates, and product improvements
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to maintain and improve product reliability and manufacturability
• Identify and execute cost-reduction initiatives through design, sourcing, or process optimization
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., CE, UL, ISO)
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction on sustaining priorities
• Maintain product performance metrics and reporting for internal stakeholders
